Sunday day of rest and play

I'm not gonna lie, I look forward to a Sunday afternoon snooze on my antique down filled chaise lounge. I only need forty five minutes and I feel refreshed and rested for the upcoming week . After nappy time we usually eat leftover's and work on a enjoyable project . Skye has been having a blast making his own paper Minecraft characters. App's that are printable are Minecraft skins, and Paper Studio. It's great to watch your kiddo print, clip, and assemble these little figures for literally hours of constructive entertainment.
Meanwhile I had an artsy urge to make a floral tote with some new fabric color sticks ( essentially heat binding oil pastels). I'm still working on it but I will give a peek...
Phooey to Monday, but until the clock strikes midnight, I say Viva La Sunday's!

Will show completed project on the morrow!

Kid Craft, Mine Craft

Sorry my posts have been a little skimpy lately. I have been super duper busy with multiple projects, besides work. Although hectic, I have to take time ,to make time for my son's imagination as well. He is crazy about a game on his Ipad called MineCraft which is kind of like Lego's but amazing how these kid's can build whole world's, with endless possibilities. And so of course he thought it would be great if mom could make him a template for an action figure Steve ( the main character) . Together we spent the evening making his character, and watching Smile As Big As The Moon. Speaking of smile, the one on my kidster's face ,and hug's, snuggle's and thank's, remind me of just how important is to spend this kind of time together. Memorable.
Lovely weekend to you:) xox Dawn

What a lovely night for a skate at Steinberg

What do you do on a crisp but not too cold winter night? Why go ice skating of course! Bundle up put on your hat n' glove's , and pile your friend's and fam in the mobile , and then enjoy the eve watching, or gliding on the ice with the colorful winter-clad crowd ,some hand in hand all lovey dovey, other's to keep tight hold to prevent splatting flat on their can's! Then take a break inside with a hot beverage , and a snack, and head back out for a wonderful wintery night! Hope your weekend has been fun filled!

Sunday Rest

Or is it? A run to the store for milk proved no rest was to be had by holiday shopper's on the go, go. Crazy driver's, and grocery shelves looking picked over, I was glad to get back to the Casa with our staples ( including, icecream of course). Our Sunday rest included our getting cozy in front of the T.V. to watch my little guy's favorite and long anticipated show: Finding Bigfoot, on Animal Planet.

They use heat sensing, night vision camera's..fancy!
No matter if you find it true or tale, it's times like these that kid's alway's remember, and I'm happy to be a part of the fun:)

Happy Sunday!

Time out for family

Well it's that time of year, for vacations, and visiting family. And oh boyeee, do we have a big family. So when my sister and little niece aand my dad and stepmom came to stay with me this past week it was party at my house every day! Which was a blast except for one little downfall... One kiddo came home sick, which led to 6 other family members biting the dust. Alas it didn't stop all from visiting and having fun, just slowed em down a bit. My lack of post's last week will be made up this week with family doin's. Well some, anyway's. I didn't pic nearly as much as we did. I was wiped out.. Happily . :) xoxo Dawn
My little sister who I miss so much, and was sooo happy she could  make it home! And she was happy with the new sunglasses I surprised her with!
Again, so happy to have my dad, and his lovely wife:)
Shopping was on the agenda,of course! And the cousin's found matching BigFoot slipper's! Total hoot!
One happy little niece, with hand's loaded with present's!
My little mini garden helper. Ummm maybe more watering of the tot than the plant's?

Festival's,fireplaces,food and family

This is as close to a spike as my kid's gonna get, and who doesn't love a crazy haired sock monkey? Good purchases!

What could make for a better weekend, than going to the oh so popular Apple Butter Festival full of art's and craft booth's, delish hot soup's, and pie's at the famous The Blue Owl. The fair boast's over 10,000 visitor's so that's saying something! This time instead of an art vendor at this fair, it was nice to be a shopper, meandering up and down the isles, admiring wares. And buying fun stuff!
Wanted this warm sweater from Equador.
We all went crazy for the mini food jewelry!
One dollar cutest ever Pinocchio pencil sharpener anyone? Danged if Rachel didn't get the last one! Score!
Hoodies with giant attached paw glove's!

Pretty "Mushroom"

It was a sunny but cold day, and we were pretty chilled when we left. So we headed over to my sister's to light up the fireplace, pull out the thick, cozy indian blankets. Also to cook our first
fall/winter meal swap! What's that, you may say? Long, long, long before Rachel Ray's 5 in a Day, I was getting my mom and sister's together to "each "make a meal enough to divide up for all. If there was three of us cooking, then we all brought home 3 different meals for the week, all ready to pop outta the fridge and heat up, much to the pleasure of the hubby's who were assured a good, and different meal . Bonus number two was to spend the day together, wooden spoon's flying, while tasty thing's were bubbling and baking.
And that was just what we did after the fair. On the menu: Encore of my Potato soup, this time kicked up with shredded cheese, and crispy crumbled bacon. Rachel's yummy Meatloaf cupcake's , croissant's, and a Cherry Dump Cake . Plenty for two meals, which we opted to eat together, then meal two could be changed up. Example, I paired my meatloaf with leftover's of my 20min pasta. It was like a giant meatball! Lipsmackin!

While we cooked, the kid's had a ball outside rolling down hill's and having leaf fight's.
Then we settled down under blanket's with fashion mag's and Masterpiece Theatre. ( the kid's opted for iPad's and Mary Poppin's.

Belly's full, two sister's wrapped up like Burrito's felt the day was full as well.... Full of family:)

The Greatest Show On Earth

One wonderful memory as a child was going to the Circus. It was especially endearing as my grandfather was a well loved Chimpanzee trainer, who brought children and adults much laughter and applause with his show's, and I used to watch him proudly on Wild Kingdom, monkey in hand.

And his father my great grand was a fearless Lion Trainer, traveling with a European Circus.
Many a child dreamt of joining the circus, including me.. that being entirely out of the question due to my parent's fear I'd wanna be the next Bearded Lady. Well then  of course, the next best thing was to just Go to the circus. My favorite was the elephants, and the trapeze artist's! What was your's?
Sooo when the Ringling Bro's Circus came into town, we snagged some great seat's, plopped down with our nacho's and funnel cake's and had yet another memorable time with our own kiddo. Elephant's doing hand stand's (er uh, front feet stand's?) crazy clown's,and death defying feat's! Now how's that for good time's! Happy Wed!
8 motorcycles fit in there!
Homage to the Tatooed Lady

So needless to say we are pretty close, and the kid's are the best of friend's. We do quite alot of fun stuff together like movies, bookstore, sleepovers, cooking, art's and craft's, bowling, etc, etc. here's a couple example's on weekend's....are you having a goodish week?
