Some of my fun Vintage Vixen's!

I collect a lot of Victorian illustrations , ads , and especially the fun old risqué lingerie clad pic's sent via postcard, mainly between two gentleman( yeah riiight) They are hard to come by, but my little collector guy, saves em for me because he a gem ! I thought I'd share this fun collage of Parisian "lady's, in very un- ladylike attire! In the early 1900's it used to be folded up, and could be bought out of a machine just like a gumball, but this was more like man candy! Hubba, hubba! Silly , but really interesting ! Happy Thurs!!

Yo Yo Yo Necklace

During last year's garage sailing I picked up a bag of crochet yo yo's? I hope that is what they are called...I just loved the way they were strung all tidy on a piece of red yarn in a baggie for a whole .25cent's. I knew I would use them one day for something. Well that day came when I was rifling through my bit's o' baubles and came up with a ugly one off earring that just screamed makeover. So I complied, by combining : my yo yo's, the uggy earring, vintage ribbon, or lace trim, Americana gold acrylic paint, old book pages,ModgePodge "decoupage medium" large gold jump ring's, and a lobster clasp, and a pair of needle, or flat nose jewelery pliers. To make a necklace I simply altered the earring to use only the tear drop shaped bead portion. Then I tore up small pieces of poetry from an old book and decoupaged it to the bead, I featured a particular word for fun, like "naked" which I highlighted around the edges with gold paint. Then I sealed the whole bead with "Modge Podge and set aside to dry. Now I simply started connecting yo yo's together with the jump ring's to the desired length, and then added a vintage lace ribbon to the end jump ring's and then attached a crimp that on one end attaches to your ribbon end and the other attaches to your lobster clasp. Finally add your bead again with another jump ring. Something unique to wear with a simple strapless sundress!!

Fabby Bag Find's

Well I have already stated how much I love the thrill of the thrift, but now that it is summer there are also treasures to be found at garage sales as evidenced by my lovely vintage Italian bag in the o' so unusual yet awesome shades of canary yellow and turquois blue. Usually you can find purses at garage sales for anywhere from .50 cent's to a couple buck's. But in this case this baby had a $12 dollar tag, a little pricey for me so I walked away, only to be slightly regretting as I continued my garaging foray's. Sooo I finally caved and figured if it was still there, then obviously it should be mine. Pulling in front of the home, my eagle eyes locked on to that bold beauty, where I hopped out wallet in hand , prepared to wheel and deal. It was the end of day,so people are more likely to go lower on item's, and I am happy to report that the final bargain price was only $7 smacker's!!

Now my flashy 70's golden girl was found in a very small, slightly grungy thrift store where time after time again I will find awesome goodness like this pre-L.A.M.B. version that has been so popular. Mine was snatched up for a mere pittance at $2 and will look fab with a sundress and gold, strappy sandal's (preferably 70's as well, still lookin) I will be sure to share more "Thrifty Thrill's" as I am so compulsed ! Happy Tuesday!!
