My Favorite Fix

If I have a little change jangling in my pocket and I need a little fix then my eyes start scanning the road for handmade neon signage that says "Garage Sale!"
It's a treasure hunt that is oh so gratifying even if you find just one thing, and if you get it for 50 cent's or a dollar or two that makes it even sweeter. This outing with my sister had me checking off a couple thing's on my list of Must Find's, and along with a hearty farm style breakfast with our outta town family, it turned out to be a lovely day!

These painting's were straight out of my Pinterest category  of Favorite Places and Spaces! They were just waiting for me,and I snagged em for a mere buck a piece! They are the start of a future collage!

The clasp on this lemony yellow triple strand necklace was the selling point for me. I think I eill wear it with a plum dress today. My wardrobe is sounding very fruity  eh?

Hello one dollar Brady Bunch waste basket to place beside my desk!

And  you ! You gorgeous Belgian tin are coming home with mama to make some new cuff's!

Yep you too!

And yet another find for a Pinterest project. Little clothespin people will be made to ride on cardboard painted animal's for the little niece! Oh what jolly fun!

What do ya want for ten cents ..

Just thought I would share some great old 70's paper placemat's I picked up at a garage sale for 10 cents. What fun for a mere dime! The color's and pattern's are so wonderful ! Now my only problem will be forcing myself to use them! Since they are paper, I don't want them to get messed up! Ah well, I see them being used for a brunch with clear glass plates. Again great fun for what you'd find in your couch cushion's! Have a wonderful weekend!

The most wonderful time of the year .. Garage sale time!

Sorry I have been gone from my blogging the last couple day's. This is a uber busy time of the year for me. But it is also the beginning of garage sale time, and I can't help but twitch with excitement every time I see a hot pink sign at the beginning of a street.
And the weather was perfectly perfect for open garage's spilling out with wonderful second hand ware's.
Armed with my wallet o' one's and change, I found a pretty H&M dress for my sister, a soft yellow spring Gap cardigan,a brand new sealed Food Saver(I had been really wanting one) for only 10 buck's, and these little thrill's...
Are these not the cutest game card's?
Bought this handstitched bedspread  from a lovely English woman, who got it from India.Gonna use as a tablecloth.
in love with this adorable vintage doggie snow globe

The glass bud vase has raised French writing on the bottom, and the  floral was a mere 25cent's.
One of my favorite sweet storie's as a kid....How are you enjoying your weekend?

Fabby Bag Find's

Well I have already stated how much I love the thrill of the thrift, but now that it is summer there are also treasures to be found at garage sales as evidenced by my lovely vintage Italian bag in the o' so unusual yet awesome shades of canary yellow and turquois blue. Usually you can find purses at garage sales for anywhere from .50 cent's to a couple buck's. But in this case this baby had a $12 dollar tag, a little pricey for me so I walked away, only to be slightly regretting as I continued my garaging foray's. Sooo I finally caved and figured if it was still there, then obviously it should be mine. Pulling in front of the home, my eagle eyes locked on to that bold beauty, where I hopped out wallet in hand , prepared to wheel and deal. It was the end of day,so people are more likely to go lower on item's, and I am happy to report that the final bargain price was only $7 smacker's!!

Now my flashy 70's golden girl was found in a very small, slightly grungy thrift store where time after time again I will find awesome goodness like this pre-L.A.M.B. version that has been so popular. Mine was snatched up for a mere pittance at $2 and will look fab with a sundress and gold, strappy sandal's (preferably 70's as well, still lookin) I will be sure to share more "Thrifty Thrill's" as I am so compulsed ! Happy Tuesday!!
