Homage to Twiddlebug's

When I was just a sprout, one of my favorite bit's on Sesame Street was the Twiddle Bug family who lived in Ernie and Bert's windowsill in the flower box, housed in little milk carton's. They were simply adorable and inspired my little imagination to pretend I had my own Twiddlebug's amongst our meager flowers. Fast forward to today and you will see that love of the Twiddle influences the look of my windowsill foliage. Happy Wednesday all!

For the love of Tortilla's

So our aunt Helen just recently left, and we love her sweetness, garage sale loving way's, AND her tortilla making skill's! I'm telling you she is a tortilla making machine! And at 69 she has the Popeye muscles to prove it!

We wanted to have a family, friend fiesta at the park, with all of our spicy homemade chow, but it never happened. The heat was just that despicable.

So we just made our little spur of the moment individual batches to savor hot off the griddle with a little butter and a dash of salt. Heaven I tell ya! Those tasteless frisbee's at the grocery store, that we all have had to buy are nothing like the real deal!

Thusly every time we tap into our treasured freezer batch we will fondly and gratefully think of our wonderful Aunt Helen whose famous saying is... "I make the Tortilla". Happy Tuesday,Love Dawn

Sewww Easy Sundress

Who knew you could go to the fabric store and find a fairly awesome selection of tube top style, multi length sundress material ready to buy on the bolt, for $15-20 dollars a yd!
I say this would be a very easy project for someone wanting to learn to sew. And instantly gratifying!
All you do is: 1)Wrap fabric around your chest and pin a comfortable fit. 2) turn right sides in an pin your fabric all the way down.3) cut off your excess fabric, an use a zigzag stitch to sew up your dress. 4) then simply fold and pin a half inch hem on the bottom, and sew up with a straight stitch.
Flip right side out, and hey now! What'ya know! Wear alone with your cute sandal's or add a thin summer cardi. Now go to the fab store and give it a whirl ! Happy almost weekend:) Dawn
