Wading in the creek on a summer's day!

Our summer in the Midwest has been a real roaster so far, with 105 plus temperature's and barely a sprinkling of rain in almost 2 month's, so yeah we have all been hot n'crabby. But I'm happy to report the desperately dry earth, and weeping tree's finally rejoiced with the rest of us when the cloud's opened up, and gave the refreshment and cool down we so,so needed. We were perked up , and packed up our trail mix, water, and strawberry smoothie's. We Slapped on our Tennie's and along with Grandpa, me and my sister and the kiddo's spent an abundantly cooler day at an awesome park called Mastadon State Park.
Their museum was really full of alot of great artifact's and info. And we really enjoyed walking their trail's and felt like kids, when we came to the a creek and kicked our shoe's off and went wading. Ahh it was delightful!
Even though we were total tenderfoot 's ooching, and owing, we had fun catching crawdad' s and skipping rock's. It was a really good day. And we will sleep well, hope you do too!:) Dawn

Can you imagine running into this mega slothy guy while out for a walk??

A relaxing holiday

I can still find plenty to do on a midweek holiday in 100 plus degree heat.Oh it's definitely a hodgepodge, but more fun than sitting around! What mischief did you find to do?
We made a chiquita bananna, oatmeal smoothie off my pinterest!
Dressed our cousin's dog up as Nellie Olson off Little House on the Prairie
Found but, did not buy this awesome mad men-nish gold velvet sectional set.

Shopped: Need I say a thing?

Embarrased my son when I bought almost all the Tazo tea at the grocery store! For crying out loud, they were a mega  steal at only .25 cent's a bottle! So i bought 72! Have a smashing weekend!:)

Weekend winery fun.

Here in the Midwest, if your going for a weekend trip a visit to a winery is most likely on the list of pit stop's. I'm not the biggest wine drinker, but it's alway's fun to stop and taste, pick up some for friend's, or for a future dinner party etc.

My friend's and I popped in Mt. Pleasant Winery where we sampled some surprisingly delicious milk chocolate wine! I promise it sound's yuck but was so good I bought some for myself!
They also had a kool idea for a gift, where you could bottle and label your own sweet wine! If your in the Branson area, drop by for some fermented goodness!
