What a lovely night for a skate at Steinberg

What do you do on a crisp but not too cold winter night? Why go ice skating of course! Bundle up put on your hat n' glove's , and pile your friend's and fam in the mobile , and then enjoy the eve watching, or gliding on the ice with the colorful winter-clad crowd ,some hand in hand all lovey dovey, other's to keep tight hold to prevent splatting flat on their can's! Then take a break inside with a hot beverage , and a snack, and head back out for a wonderful wintery night! Hope your weekend has been fun filled!

Chocolate Lollies

Well the big disappointment was No snow. You know how exciting the first snow is, particularly for kid's.
We alway's stock the cupboard with hot chocolate, popcorn, and other goodie's to bake or make.
The fridge has the making's for comfort food, and big breakfast.
We go to the library and pick movie's like Flash Gordon, and The Long Long Trailer, and for me some art mag's. Then we make sure we have glove's , snow suits, and of course our sled's ready for that whiter than white glow through the window that your peeper's first see in the morn of a snowy day.....

Big ol' let down was all we saw when the grey light awoke us...meanwhile our neighbor's to the south had fourteen inches of the white fluff! Whoah, I'm not saying we wanted near that, but maybe just two or three for one day of fun. Then we are good for the winter.

Since none was to be had, me and the kiddo's ( we also had an anxious snowflake loving cousin over) decided to make some chocolate lolly pop's that were easy as a wink, and fun for the kid's to decorate . It was simply : melt your chocolate in a glass bowl at 30 second interval's in micro till smooth. Oh and use a rubber spatula to stir. Then simply spoon your chocolate on a cookie sheet with wax paper, lay your sucker stick( with a bit of a roll motion to cover up the stick with chocolate all tidy). Add your topping's and pop in the fridge for 15 or 20 min to firm up , and there you have it!

See the day was not a total bust! Oh and the kid's made mask's and cape's and the house looked like the storm we didnt have! Happy Thurs! Xox Dawn

I used a delish combo of cashew, dried cherries, and white chocolate, and then toasted walnut, sno-cap topped semi-sweet..yum

Let it Snow!

When home on winter break, what could be better than a pot of hot soup on the stove, some banana-nut- chocolate chip bread, and a fun project to prepare for tomorrow's snow! Of course you cant have snow without Snow Men , and the kid's were game as they made me the cutest little pic's that we promptly cut out and put battery powered candles in. What a fun way to make the kiddo's art glow, as well as their faces with indoor family fun! Xox Dawn

The Big Score

Generally on Friday night's me and my sister, sometime's sister's and or mom and gram grab some din and go to the bookstore to hang out for the evening. Trust me, it's lovely relaxing fun.

When it's me and my little sister, and the kid's we like to add more stop's to the evening that alway's includes the Thrift Store, and Old Navy, and Starbucks ( especially for Bogo), aaaand Ulta, aaaand dinner(at good ol Steak n' shake) aaaand one shop for the kid's and finally they have to kick us outta the bookstore when it closes at 10:00.
We have a great time together especially when we score big at the Thrift! Proof was in our cart brimming with goodies that included a perfect grey velvet jacket from Sak's Fifth Avenue , a leather back pack, three Mexican bird feather art pic's for my collection ( Rachel found these for me) and for me one of my long time longing's on my must find list: : Vintage Leather Satchel's .
I am alway's on the lookout for a Gladstone, but when me and my sister spotted the John Romain leather bag behind the counter, the heaven's parted and the angel's sang!
Love I tell ya, and what made it sweeter was that I got it for a mere $7.50, after I haggled with the manager, and he gave me 50% more off ( didn't know you could do that huh?). I quickly looked it up on my phone and found my purse was listed for $145.00 on line!!! Similar ones ranged from 70 and up, so supa score I say!! And that's how we roll on a Friday night! Maybe boring to most but good time's to those who get... " The Thrill Of The Thrift!" Xox Dawn

More lovely ladies going to a new home

Admittedly I am a hoarder of my ware's. I just can't seem to part with my pieces right away. I blame it on the sticker collecting trend when I was little, I just loved to look at all my acquired, and ever growing stash. I didn't want to trade or part, at least at first. Same with my art, and when I send them to a good home, I make sure they are dressed up properly. I really enjoy making my own boxes, bag's and card's. I believe a package should be just as appealing as its content. And frankly, I'm a girl, and what girl doesn't like a pretty package,eh? Monday is over! Now the week will breeze by! The smell of fresh laundry

Who knew you could get the smell of freshly fabric softened laundry by merely purchasing a catchy titled candle?! Named : Tighty Whities! This candle from 5B's candle company and was highly fragrant. There were several more I really would have loved, including these ones ... Happy Saturday!
